NMD Pharma raises awareness ahead of Rare Disease Day, 2025

In recognition of Rare Disease Day, we are sharing a recent interview that our team conducted with Dr. Albert Freedman, founder of Rare Counseling, an independent practice that supports patients and families affected by Rare Diseases, disabilities and medically complex conditions. Dr. Freedman’s approach, which was shaped by his experience with his son Jack, who lived with spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) for 26 years, is focused on supporting the unique emotional needs of individuals and families affected by rare disease and disability, as well as the evolving and dynamic needs of these communities.

Many thanks to Dr. Freedman for sharing his perspective and work. We have learned so much from discussions and interactions with him.
