Michael Voldsgaard Clausen
Research Scientist

My name is Michael Voldsgaard Clausen, and I am a research scientist at NMD Pharma.

I obtained my PhD from Aarhus University, where I focused on molecular biology and biophysics and furthered my research skills through three years of postdoctoral work at the Department of Physics at the University of Oxford. Afterwards, I returned to Denmark as an Assistant Professor at Aarhus University's Institute of Advanced Studies, before joining NMD Pharma in 2020.

At NMD Pharma, I use advanced experimental methods and develop mathematical models to deepen our understanding of how our compounds interact with their molecular targets. It is incredibly rewarding to witness the progression of new compounds from chemical structures on a computer screen through various screening stages, and for a few compounds, all the way into clinical trials. Knowing that our work positively impacts the lives of patients with neuromuscular diseases is profoundly fulfilling.

One of the aspects I enjoy most about working at NMD Pharma is the flexible and open environment that encourages collaboration and the exchange of ideas among different teams. The culture here is fantastic, and I appreciate the opportunities to work cross divisionally and engage with colleagues at social events.
